The remainder of Toshiba’s new notebook line may not get touchscreens like the M505 Touch and U505 Touch, but you can’t accuse the company of missing out any particular niche. The Windows 7 update gets applied across the board, with the Toshiba Mini NB205 netbook getting Win 7 Starter and either 160GB or 250GB storage (MRSP from $399.99), all the way up to the 18.4-inch Satellite P500 with a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion II CPUs, optional Blu ray and harmon/kardon speakers (MRSP from $799.99).
Also in the 18.4-inch segment is the Toshiba Qosmio X500, which will get Windows 7 in two models. The Qosmio X500-Q830 has a 1,680 x 945 display, 320GB 7,200rpm HDD, 4GB of memory and $1,449.99 MRSP, while the Qosmio X500-Q850 gets a 1,920 x 1,080 display, dual 64GB SSD and 320GB HDD, 6GB of memory and a $1,899.99 MRSP.
The non-touch versions of the Satellite M500-series and U500-series also see Windows 7 Premium, with 14-inch and 13.3-inch displays respectively and prices starting from $699.99 and $698.99 respectively. Meanwhile the Toshiba Satellite A500-series has a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion II CPUs, optional discrete graphics and Blu ray and standard harmon/kardon speakers, together with a 16-inch display that’s HD resolution on select models. The A500-series kicks off from $589.99 MRSP.
The Satellite T100-series ultraportables get Windows 7 Home Premium, and start at $499.99. Finally, the Toshiba Satellite L500-series are the company’s value notebooks, with prices for the 14-, 15.6-, 16- and 17.3-inch models starting from $504.99 to $579.99, get Windows 7, as well as a choice of Intel or AMD processors and HDDs from 250GB to 500GB.
